Annual herb growing up to 60cm, with lanceolate, serrated, green leaves and small, yellow, hermaphrodite flowers

Soil: Clay, heavy, moist

The whole plant is used as astringent, laxative, sedative, sudorific and diuretic, and it is recommended in the form of herbal tea for the treatment of various renal and bladder's problems, diarrhea and colitis. Due to its astringent action the plant is administered against bleeding, metrorrhagia, haematuria and ulcers, while it is applied externally against alopecia. Finally, the odor which emerges during flowers' burning has a strong insect repellent action.
